Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-20.
The short version
Lume is provided as-is. Use it to follow shows and movies; don't abuse it; we can suspend accounts that do.
Your account
You sign in via Apple or Google. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Pick a username that doesn't impersonate someone or contain illegal content.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app to harass, threaten, or impersonate others. Friend requests are mutual-confirm; recommendations are visible only to you and the recipient.
- Scrape, mass-create accounts, or attempt to evade rate limits.
- Reverse-engineer the Edge Functions to abuse third-party APIs (TMDB).
- Upload CSV imports that contain content you don't own or have permission to use. Watchlist matching is best-effort — we do not guarantee a TMDB result for every row.
User-generated content
Recommendation notes are user-generated content. You retain ownership of what you write, and you grant us a license to display it to the intended recipient. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.
Third-party content
Show and movie metadata is sourced from TMDB. We are not endorsed by or affiliated with TMDB, IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, JustWatch, or any streaming service. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time in-app (Settings → Delete my account). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to deliver accurate alerts, but third-party data sources may be incomplete or wrong.
Notifications
With your permission, Lume sends push notifications and an optional weekly digest. Both can be turned off in Settings → Notifications. Alerts are delivered through Apple's and Google's push services; we can't guarantee delivery if the device is offline, in low-power mode, or has notifications disabled at the OS level.
Lume Plus (coming soon)
Lume Plus is a planned paid tier. When it ships, billing will be handled by Apple or Google through your platform account — Lume does not process payments directly. Auto-renewing subscriptions will be disclosed at the point of purchase per platform rules; refunds and cancellations follow Apple's and Google's respective policies. Features in the free tier today will remain free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lume is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after the "Last updated" date constitutes acceptance.
