FAQ
I followed a show but I’m not getting alerts.
Make sure you allowed notifications when prompted. You can toggle them back on in iOS Settings → Notifications → Lume, or Android Settings → Apps → Lume → Notifications. We send alerts at 9am your local time by default.
Why didn’t I get a sequel alert?
Sequel detection runs once a day against TMDB. If a sequel was announced or released very recently, you’ll get the alert at our next sync. TMDB is community-edited, so niche projects sometimes lag a few days.
How do I follow a whole franchise?
On any movie’s detail page, if it’s part of a franchise (TMDB calls these “collections”) you’ll see a card linking to it. Tap through and hit Follow on the collection itself to get every new entry — sequels, prequels, spinoffs.
Can I import from Letterboxd or Trakt?
Yes — Settings → Account → Import watchlist. Letterboxd and Trakt CSV exports work out of the box; any CSV with a 'title' (or 'name') column and an optional 'year' column will do. We'll match each row to TMDB and follow the best result.
Can I export my data?
Yes — Settings → Account → Download my data. Pick JSON or CSV; you'll get a file you can share through any system share target (AirDrop, Mail, Files, iCloud).
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete my account. Confirms once, then permanently removes everything you own (profile, follows, friends, recommendations). No way to undo.
Is this free?
Yes, no ads, no tracking. We may add an optional paid tier later for power-user features (calendar export, custom alert schedules). The core stays free.
Reporting bad data
If a show’s air dates look wrong, the source data is TMDB. The fastest fix is editing TMDB directly — it’s free and a real human approves changes. We pull the corrected data within 24 hours.
Reporting abuse
Each user-to-user surface (recommendations, friend requests) has a report + block option in the app. You can also email abuse@lume.app with details. We respond within 48 hours.
